Stay well this Spring

Stay well this Spring

Caring for mind and body this Spring (and every season)

As temperatures in Australia’s southern regions edge closer to typical Sunshine State weather again, the warmer days are lifting moods and luring more people outdoors again.

Do you plan to make walking or running a part of your Spring fitness routine? If so, it’s important to prepare the body, especially if you’re new to the activity (or, let’s face it, haven’t done it for a while!).

Check out these videos from Care 24-7’s Physio in the ED provider, BodyFit Physiotherapy, which are designed to minimise the risk of injury when exercising:

Caring for our mental wellbeing is just as important as focusing on our physical health. We know sunshine promotes feelings of positivity – and there are also some simple actions we can take to keep the mind in tip-top condition.

Queensland Health recommends these six ‘building blocks’ of mental wellbeing to help us respond to everyday tasks in a unique and powerful way.

Get healthy
Be active, eat well and get enough sleep

Keep learning
Challenge your mind and seek out new things.

Show kindness
Give back, show gratitude and bring joy to others’ lives

Connect more
Develop relationships, stay connected and care for each other.

Take notice
Be mindful. Stay in the moment. Experience the world around you.

Embrace nature
Step outside, connect with the natural world and take care of the planet.
