Pathology, radiology, other tests, discharge drugs, other specialist fees are billed separately. Medicare may cover part; check with insurer.
Check cost with provider
The fee does not include pharmacy products such as splints, crutches and discharge drugs or the fee of any specialist called by the ED doctor. Charges for these services are determined by the provider, without consultation with the ED.
Radiology (Medical Imaging) services are provided by a third party (I-MED Radiology Network). Any additional charges relating to that service are directly to you by I-MED Radiology Network and should be paid directly to them.
You do not require a referral, unless you have booked an intravenous iron infusion
You don’t need private insurance unless you are admitted to the hospital.
Overnight and surgical inpatients who present to Calvary Lenah Valley ED within four days of discharge from Calvary Lenah Valley or St John’s hospitals will be treated at no cost, so long as the emergency doctor confirms that the presentation is directly associated with their surgery.
Please note that there are some exclusions: this does not apply to medical, rehabilitation, maternity (unless surgical), or palliative care patients.
Calvary Hobart Hospital day or inpatient oncology treatment customers returning to Calvary Lenah Valley ED within 4 days of treatment will be treated at no cost, so long as an emergency doctor confirms that the presentation has been caused by the treatment.
