Calvary Adelaide Emergency Department aims to offer shorter waiting times than many public emergency departments, helping employees access care sooner. As with all emergency presentations, patients are assessed and treated according to clinical urgency under our triage system.

The Emergency Department offers direct WorkCover billing arrangements. Once the required approval form is signed and the employer provides a guarantee of payment, assessment and treatment can proceed. An invoice is then issued to the employer with 30-day payment terms. After 30 days, the patient/employee becomes liable for any outstanding costs.

No. With approved direct billing arrangements in place, there is no upfront financial burden placed on the injured employee for emergency department fee.

The employee should attend Calvary Adelaide Emergency Department and advise staff that the injury is a WorkCover claim. The ED team will then send a WorkCover approval form to the employer’s nominated representative for completion. This form must be signed and returned as soon as possible to enable appropriate treatment and assessment to commence.
